Website Design Questions

How does the website design/redesign process work?
  • Your project will start off with Kick-Off meeting. This is where you meet your web designer. At this meeting, you’ll talk through the scope of work, goals, and have an in-depth design discussion.
  • You will be sent a form to collect all the information your designer needs to add the correct content to your new design.
  • After the Kick-Off meeting your designer will begin working through the design of the site.
  • Once a simple homepage has been designed, your designer will send you a temporary link that you can view and check the design out.
  • Like the design? Great your designer will continue the build. Not loving the design? That’s ok, this is your chance to make adjustments.
  • Once your new website is designed and has all the relevant content, its time to launch your site on your domain.
  • Once live, your designer will walk you through how to make basic updates to your new site.
How much does a website cost?

Our website design costs are only $697 one time design fee and $49/mo for premium hosting and support. We have tailored our pricing to help churches without a large budget have the ability to have a great looking website that is functional and optimized to help you connect with your community better. 

What will my website be built on?

Our websites are built a few different ways depending on the needs of our clients. We will either design and code your website from scratch or use a content management system, also known as a CMS. Regardless of the way we build your site, we will always convert it into a simple-to-use CMS, this allows you to make updates to your site without having to know any sort of coding language.

How soon can my website launch?

Your launch date will depend on the complexity of your website. Our usual turnaround is between 1-3 weeks, depending on our client’s ability to provide feedback, content, and the overall complexity of the build. We optimize your site to give your site users a great experience, the end result matters and takes time to do the right way. 

If you have a specific launch date in mind, your web designer will be happy to work with you in setting up a timeline to achieve it.

Will my website be set-up for SEO?

In order to keep our initial pricing lower we do not include SEO in the website design plan. However, we do offer SEO as an add-on (check it out here) and would love to work with you on setting up a strategy to help you rank higher in Google organically.

Can I fix my old website instead of starting with a new one?

A website is more than just the physical appearance, it’s also the site architecture and the technology behind it, both of which may or may not be helping or hurting you in Google rankings and user experience. If you’re looking for just graphic updates or content updates that’s one thing, but if your site is not hitting industry benchmarks (like site speed, mobile responsiveness, content architecture, etc.), then it’s a good time to evaluate your options. Starting with a new website lets you talk about your ministry as it sits today but also where you’d like to be in the next several years. Modern websites have more functionality available to them to make updating and maintaining your website much easier in the future.

Can Engage provide graphics that are relevant to my ministry?

Yes, but we recommend using images/videos from your ministry, this will help your community connect with you better. (check out our design services here)

Can someone help me write content?

If you find yourself having difficulty writing your own content, we’re happy to help. But depending on the amount of content that needs to be written there may be an extra fee. 

Will you train me on how to use my website?

Your web designer will walk through training on how to use your site after we launch. We wait until your site is complete so that you can learn to use the CMS and make updates on the backend of your actual website.

What is included in support?

Our team is available through email, live chat, or by phone 8am to 5pm CST Monday – Friday. If there is something wrong with the infrastructure of your site or there is a needed software update, we will always make those changes as quickly as possible. We will do our best to help with questions about the site, share how to make small changes, and etc. For larger change items, there may be an additional fee. 

We know that Sundays are a big day for churches, so if there is something causing your site to be down just let us know so we can work on getting it back up for you. 

How do I promote my new website?

There are a number of great ways to promote your website when it launches, and we’re happy to help! Here are a few of our favorite ways to promote your website launch.

Social media posts & content building (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), email to your subscribers, pay-per-click advertising, or Facebook & Instagram Ads. 

How long will my design last in terms of relevancy?

We design our sites with longevity in mind, as well as the flexibility to continue to update them. The industry standard is to update your website every 2 to 3 years, but we are happy to partner with our clients to create long-lasting sites that are easy to refresh. If you are on our $50/mo hosting plan we do offer 1 free redesign every 2 years. 

Do I have to use your hosting?

While you don’t have to use our hosting here’s a few reasons we recommend it. With our fully managed hosting plan that is only $50/mo not only does your website get hosted on our fast SSD servers, you will also get unlimited support, emails for your entire team, a free .com domain, premium security set up, weekly site backups, and small site updates made for you. If you just want a basic hosting plan without the extras, we do offer a great alternative plan for only $15/mo (check it out here).
